I’ve spent more time writing, recording, and producing Deliquesce than any other WMD release. The process of making this record has followed me through some of the most emotionally desolate periods of my life so far, and having this project to return to after each one gave me a purpose and goal to continue to work towards. In a way, the demos for Deliquesce acted as a diary for me to try to navigate my own struggles with identity, stability, happiness, and isolation in the three years I spent working on them. There were weeks that would go by that I wouldn’t speak, completely isolated with just my home and the work to keep myself company. There were times I thought I would be writing this album until it killed me. At the end of 2021, I decided to take a solo trip to northern Montana for two weeks. While I was there I ended up writing more than I had over that entire last year, including several songs that made it onto the finished album. In the end, I think I had upwards of 200 unused / unreleased demos that I made for this record, in some cases rewriting the same song multiple times as my ideas for the sound of the album changed over the years. To me, Deliquesce is a concrete expression of these last three years of my life, and in a lot of ways it’s proof that I made it through to the other side.

This soundtrack has pretty much made my entire childhood so I'm excited to hear the vinyl of it! Praying that one day we can hear the third album but no pressure, since everything surrounding it must've been super stressful to deal with. Always looking forward to hear your next work! imande
